CELEBRATING VALENTINE'S DAY WITH SONYAA'S RANDOM MUSINGS: FIVE ROMANTIC FLICKS YOU SIMPLY CAN'T MISS!

Hi Friends,

How are you doing? I do hope that the first month of the new year has kick-started your plans, goals and resolutions on a high note!

Of candle light dinners,romantic getaways/dates to chocolates, solitaires, champagne, expensive gifts etc...the season of love has finally arrived! Yes, February is right here! In a fortnight everyone will be celebrating Valentine's Day,a day that's dedicated to love!That day in the year when love reaches its zenith! 

Besides gifts here are a few movies that I can add to your list that would make your V-day extra-special (and that too without pinching your pocket)! After all, if you have a choice of five movies to pick from which I am about to share with you...you could rent it out well in advance (or gift a DVD to your sweetheart/ beloved) and enjoy those romantic moments watching the film together as you cozy up to one another. :)

And now I shall add five more such romantic films to make it a fantastic five on your Valentine's Day weekend! 

What is love? Is it someone who merely just says "I love you" a hundred times or someone who walks that extra mile just to be with you and proves it to you in a hundred different ways on how much he loves you? 

Our films show us just the ideal man/ woman and the perfect situation that we would love to find yourselves in! No wonder, many of us (including me of course) regard films as the epitome of love when it comes to depicting human emotions and affections as they become an extension of our lives.

Here's five films for you that will sway you off your feet as you silent hope to find the lover in Paul Sutton,Nelson Moss, Landon Carter,Noah and Leo. Now before you get guessing on the films that these familiar names I just mentioned belong to...let's get started with this month's post!

1. The Notebook - Now who wouldn't want to be the rich and adorable,Allie who finds true love in Noah,the man who never gives up on her and keeps the vision of her dream home alive in his thoughts even after they have been torn apart by destiny? Yet Noah has the determination to build that home for her with the hope that she would ultimately find her way back to his home and heart despite the odds stacked against him. 

The Notebook is the story of young lovers Noah,a country boy and Allie,a city girl,belonging to two different stratas of the society who despite all differences go on to have a magical summer romance but are separated by fate only to realize upon a chance meeting years later that they were and are still madly in love with one another. United in love once again,they stay by each other's side through the worst when Allie suffers from Alzheimer's and Noah is sitting right by her side in their old age,holding her hands as he reads to her their love story from her notebook with the hope that some day it would bring her back to him. A Walk To Remember - Just as The Notebook, A Walk To Remember is penned by author Nicholas Sparks as well and treads on the path of undying love - a love that lasts a lifetime...even when the hour of death is nigh! Where do you find a man who loves you so much that he wants to take care of you,make your every wish come true and even marry you despite knowing the fact that you are suffering from leukemia...an inevitable tragedy of loosing you forever that awaits him? A man truly in love would be heartbroken for sure!

A Walk To Remember is about Landon Carter,a college going spoiled brat who comes to fall in love with the local minister's daughter - Jamie Sullivan, a modest yet beautiful girl - someone whom he has seldom paid any attention to even though he has known her since kindergarten. Two people who share nothing in common fall in love with one another after acting in a stage play at school.Landon is drawn towards Jamie's simplicity, good nature and spiritual beliefs. He begins to take life seriously as he draws up his goals to become a doctor because Jamie has faith in him and believes that he can do anything. However, this new found love is short-lived when Jamie reveals that she is suffering from leukemia and has not been responding to treatment. Though Landon is shattered upon hearing this at first but he decides to go about fulfilling all her wishes one by one and marry her too! Years after Jamie's death, Landon Carter who has now passed out from his medical school learns from Jamie's father that he was the miracle that Jamie had been waiting for all her life!

3. Sweet November - In this past paced world,where career, ambition and success are the drivers of our life then love has no choice but to take a back-seat. However,what happens when love comes knocking at your doorstep and does not leave you until you are consumed by it? This is the story of a man and woman  who come together to discover their "Sweet November"!

Sweet November is the story of Nelson Moss, a workaholic and an aggressive ad man determined to succeed. His only functional relationship is the one he shares with his work until he is fired from his job. The Vow is inspired by a true story of a much in love newly-married couple, Leo and Paige whose life turns upside down when Paige loses her memory in a road accident. With no memory left of her married life with Leo,she is trapped five years back in time with fond memories of her family and her ex-fiance as she goes back to revive those relationships. Leo lovingly and patiently tries to help her start over,but she does not relent. With no recollection of the past and unaware of the changed equations between her family and her then fiance before the accident,Paige moves back into her parents home. However, Leo does not give up on Paige. He attempts to recreate the many wonderful moments they spent together from the time they met till they got married to woo his wife and win her back into his life. Though Paige is yet not sure,however with time she manages to join bits and pieces of her life before she bumps into Leo once again. Here's a timeless two decade old romance of Paul Sutton who comes to love Victoria Aragon even though she is expecting another man's child out of wedlock.In a world,where people are busy judging each other based on their morals and virtues, there's hardly any time left to love! A Walk In The Clouds will show you that when an honorable gentleman loves his woman,he judges not her by her past.

A Walk In The Clouds is the story of army war hero, Paul Sutton who returns home after a traumatizing war to settle to domestic bliss with his wife, Betty Sutton only to realize that the dreams he shared through the letters he wrote to her were left unacknowledged and unread. Obit: I was saddened to learn of the sudden passing away of the versatile and talented, Alan Rickman. While everyone would fondly remember him  for his portrayal as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series,I would choose to remember him as the gentle and endearing, Colonel Brandon who conquered every woman's hearts in Sense and Sensibility. Rest in Peace, Sir!
