ROMANCING WITH FILMS (Concluding Part)

Hello Everybody,

How have you been? What's up? How did the month go by? Did you enjoy reading September's post 'Romancing with Films'? Those who have been intently reading my blog would know that this month is the concluding part of the article with the final 10 making it to the list...are you ready? For those who have not read it yet...here's your final chance. Click on the link -
http://sonyaa-random-musings.blogspot.com/2010/09/romancing-with-films-sonyaas-top-20.html

Now, if you scroll down to read the # 1 film...you'd be depriving yourself the pleasure you'd have got if you'd have read it step by step reminiscing some of those wonderful films made by the geniuses and performances by versatile actors and actresses who have graced the world of cinema....hey,hold it...now if I've given you the impression that the list would be comprising largely of the good old films...then you're partly and half right! So, then are you ready?? Seems to me..that you are...then let's get set go...

Coming up at # 10 is the story of a legend by the name of Giacomo Casanova...from the film "CASANOVA". When after several flings, debauchery and charges of heresy, Casanova (Heath Ledger) is asked by the Pope to mend his ways by getting married. Now it so happens that Casanova sets his eyes on the beautiful Victoria but is oblivious of the fact that her shy neighbor Giovanni is in love with her and when he comes to know of the engagement he challenges Casanova for a duel.Giovanni's sister Francesca Bruni (Sienna Miller) fights on her brother's behalf to win the girl for him just when in time Casanova discovers the switch. He is simply bowled over and during his conversation with her one thought that leaves a lasting impression on him is when she says -- "Give me a man who is man enough to give himself just to the woman who is worth him. If that woman were me I would love him alone and forever."
And that's when we see the transformation of Casanova from a playboy to the man who pursues the love of his life even if it meant embracing death for her...Aptly the by-line summarizes the film - A story about lies told, virtues lost and love found!

At # 9 is the eternal "LOVE STORY"...that will remain etched in our minds forever about a young couple Oliver Barrett and Jennifer Cavilleri who fought all odds together both in life and death but never fell out of love! Despite their different back-grounds, when the rich and wealthy Oliver Barrett IV (Ryan O'Neal) falls in love with a working-class and quick-witted,Jennifer Cavilleri (Ali MacGraw),he decides to marry her much against his parent's wishes and they severs ties with him.The young couple believe that love would keep them sailing through the crisis in life when they are faced with financial troubles. Jenny soon takes up a job as a private school teacher to support Oliver's dream of graduating from the Harvard Law school and managing sundry expenses. But when Oliver graduates and takes up a job, their troubles are all over and is well in their lives till they decide to have a child. But the tragedy of the love story unfolds when the doctor's discover that Jenny was suffering from leukemia and was soon going to die. Oliver stands by Jennifer through those last moments of her life..even though the multiplying hospital expenses were unaffordable.Oliver decides to seek financial help from his father even if it meant telling a lie.Jenny dies....but her death brings a reconciliation between the father and son and he re-iterates the words to his father that Jenny once told him when his father says he was sorry-- 'Love means never having to say you're sorry'

That's the beauty of love....different situations interpret love so beautifully, love heals broken relationships and love binds two soul forever. Very profound....you don't have to be sorry for having loved someone and it so aptly applies in today's time when things go awry between couples and they regret having been together...perhaps they could learn a thing or two from Oliver and Jenny!

At # 8...we have two films making it to the list...both from our good old world of cinema and much loved even today, yes,it's none other than "THE SOUND OF MUSIC" and "SABRINA"

Sent by the nunnery to work as a governess in the house of Captain von Trapp (Christopher Plummer),a widowed, retired and a 'harshly' disciplinarian officer,Maria (Julie Andrews) finds herself thrown in the company of his seven rowdy and mischievous children. At first, they plot to throw her out, but Maria pursues them gently and introduces the melody of music in their lives which stirs the soul of Captain Von Trapp too...till they decide to get married, until the World War II begins! That's 'The Sound of Music'  Don't be fooled by the otherwise serious demeanor of Captain von Trapp...you'll know why if you remember a situation in the film when...
Captain von Trapp: Maria, there isn't going to be any Baroness anymore.
Maria: I don't understand.
Captain von Trapp:Well, we called off our engagement, you see, and...
  Maria: Oh, I'm sorry.
Captain von Trapp: Yes. You are?
Maria: Mm-hmm. You did?
Captain von Trapp: Yes. Well, you can't marry someone when you're in love with someone else... can you?

The heirs to the Larrabee empire Linus (Humphrey Bogart),a quiet introvert gentleman and his
younger brother David (William Holden), a womanizer and playboy find themselves falling in love with the same woman! The woman in question - the elegant and beautiful Sabrina (Audrey Hepburn).
Sabrina,a chaffeur's daughter has all her life nursed a crush on David, but he hardly even knew of her existence even though she lived right there! She goes to Paris only to return home as a sophisticated and attractive woman and just when she manages to capture David's attention, she suddenly finds herself falling for Linus who is also in love with her!
Here's a romantic moment from the film...
Linus:[dancing with Sabrina]How do you say in French my sister has a yellow pencil?
Sabrina Fairchild: Ma soeur a un crayon jaune.
Linus:
How do you say my brother has a lovely girl?
Sabrina Fairchild: Mon frère a une gentille petite amie.
Linus: And how do you say I wish I were my brother?
(Want a desi-angle,refer-Yeh Dillagi,Remember Saif-Kajol-Akshay Kumar?)

You won't believe it...but yet again....I have two films that make it to the list...kinda strange...don't think I'm too accomodating...but I couldn't have missed out on these two rom-coms either that make it to the final list at # 7. Both have our favorite English heart-throb Hugh Grant whose subtle demeanor, floppy hair, suave personality, quick-witted and effortless charms set our heart-beats racing!! The only exception is that in one he gets the girl and in the other he doesn't!

"TWO WEEKS NOTICE" is about Lucy Kelson (Sandra Bullock),a Harvard law graduate and an environmentalist who works for George Wade (Hugh Grant),an immature, philandering and handsome tycoon.Lucy soon realizes that she is used more like a nanny by her boss who needs advice on all aspects of his life -- whether it's choosing his wardrobe, his ties or even stationary and that's when she decides to call it quits and give him Two Weeks Notice... But George can't let go off Lucy...as he has grown dependent on her and yes...even loves her and unknowingly Lucy, also has fallen for him...what happens next is anyone's guess!
Here are a few good moments you'd love in the film --

George Wade:Before you came into my life I could make all kinds of decisions now I'm addicted I have to know what you think. What do you think? [holds up cuff links]
Lucy Kelson: I think your the most selfish human being on the planet.
George Wade: Well that's just silly. Have you met everybody on the planet?
*************
George Wade: I need your advice on one last thing, then I promise you will never hear from me again. You see, I've just delivered the first speech I've written entirely by myself since we met, and I think I may have blown it.I want to ask your thoughts.Okay? Then I will read it to you.

I'd like to welcome everyone on this special day. Island Towers will bring glamor and prestige to the neighborhood and become part of Brooklyn's renaissance. And I'm very pleased and proud to be here. Unfortunately, there is one fly in the ointment. You see, I gave my word to someone that we wouldn't knock down this building behind me. And normally, and those of you who know me or were married to me can attest to this, my word wouldn't mean very much. So why does it this time? Well, partly because this building is an architectural gem and deserves to be land marked and partly because people really do need a place to do senior's water ballet and CPR. Preferably not together. But mainly because this person, despite being unusually stubborn and unwilling to compromise and a very poor dresser, is... she's rather like the building she loves so much. A little rough around the edges but, when you look closely, absolutely beautiful. And the only one of her kind. And even though I've said cruel things and driven her away, she's become the voice in my head. And I can't seem to drown her out. And I don't want to drown her out. So, we are going to keep the community center. Because I gave my word to her and because we gave our word to the community. And I didn't sleep with June. That's not in the speech, that's just me letting you know that important fact. What do you think?

"BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY" is about Bridget (Renee Zellweger)
who is struggling against her age, her weight, her many imperfections and the lack of man in her life....when she decides to maintain a diary and make a list of do's and don'ts from henceforth on! Two men find a way into her life...she's simply smitten by her flirtatious boss Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) and they have an affair...but their relationship doesn't hold much importance to Daniel and Bridget violates a rule from her diary! And strangely, but all through...she keeps bumping into her childhood friend Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), a reserved and stiff top notch attorney who is simply in love with all her imperfections! Now it seems that the Gods are hinting at something...But Bridget is guarded about her feelings only to realize that it was true love calling when Mark tells her....

Mark Darcy:
I like you, very much.
Bridget:
Ah, apart from the smoking and the drinking, the vulgar mother and... ah, the verbal diarrhoea.
Mark Darcy: No, I like you very much. Just as you are.I don't think you're an idiot at all. I mean, there are elements of the ridiculous about you. Your mother's pretty interesting. And you really are an appallingly bad public speaker. And, um, you tend to let whatever's in your head come out of your mouth without much consideration of the consequences... But the thing is, um, what I'm trying to say, very inarticulately, is that, um, in fact, perhaps despite appearances, I like you, very much. Just as you are.

*************
Mark Darcy: Bridget!
Bridget: Mark... What are you doing here?
Mark Darcy: I was just wondering if you were available for Bar Mitzvahs and Christenings in addition to Ruby Weddings.
Bridget: I thought you were in America.
Mark Darcy:
Well I was... but I realized I had forgotten something here.
Bridget:
Which was...?
Mark Darcy: Well, I realized that I had forgotten to... kiss you goodbye, do you mind?

At # 6 comes "MY FAIR LADY",a film about Eliza Doolittle(Audrey Hepburn),an unrefined dirty cockney-rustic flower girl and Professor Henry Higgins(Rex Harrisson) who takes it upon himself  to transform her into a lady after a bet with Colonel Pickering(Wilfrid Hyde-White)! At first it's interesting to note Professor Henry Higgins thoughts on women before he actually falls in love with one! Here's what he says --
Women are irrational, that's all there is to that! Their heads are full of cotton, hay, and rags. They're nothing but exasperating, irritating, vacillating, calculating, agitating, maddening and infuriating hags!

And here's when the transformation takes place. In the closing scene of the film,Professor Henry Higgins admits that he had fallen in love with Eliza Doolittle when he says...
"I've grown accustomed to her face! She almost makes the day begin!
I've grown accustomed to the tune that she whistles night and noon.
Her smiles, her frowns, her ups, her downs, are second nature to me now, like breathing out and breathing in...
I was serenely independent and content before we met!
Surely I could always be that way again...
And yet... I've grown accustomed to her looks, accustomed to her voice, accustomed to her face.
But I'm so used to hear her say, "Good morning" every day...
Her joys, her woes, her highs, her lows, are second nature to me now, like breathing out and breathing in... I'm very grateful she's a woman, and so easy to forget!
Rather like a habit one can always break...
And yet..I've grown accustomed to the trace of something in the air... Accustomed... to her face."

Indeed, so romantic....you don't have to say the three magical words to someone to make him/her fall for you....sometimes when you're alone and reflect on the good times you spend with that special person, you admit that someone's absence incompletes you...!

The definition of love does not change even if the person you love cannot be yours....ask Rick
Blaine in "CASABLANCA" coming up at #5. Set in the backdrop of World War II,Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart),an exiled American, a former freedom fighter and owner of the most popular night joint comes into the possession of two valuable letters of transit that he wishes to use for himself. But as chance would have it, Rick comes face-to-face with his past when his ex-lover Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman) walks into his bar. This time Ilsa is accompanying her husband Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid), Czech's underground leader as they are detained in Casablanca. Rick at first is very bitter towards Ilsa, but when he comes to know the reason she left him in Paris,he puts the transit papers to good use when he helps them fly out of the country. That's the story of Casablanca...Truly, Love is unselfish!

And here's the parting scene from the film...
Rick:If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it.Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.

Ilsa: But what about us?
Rick:
We'll always have Paris. We didn't have it before...we'd...we'd lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.
Ilsa: When I said I would never leave you...
Rick: And you never will. But I've got a job to do, too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Here's looking at you, kid.
*************
And another from the film...
"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine."

Could war films make a good love story or in anyway be romantic? It surely does in the film coming up at next at # 4! It is a film about two childhood friends who love the same girl and a war that changes their lives forever...that's PEARL HARBOR

Rafe(Ben Affleck)courts Evelyn(Kate Beckinsale) and wants to celebrate their love after having known each other when she passes him in the fitness test for the Air Force. He unsuccessfully uncorks the champagne which hits his nose and is writhing in pain, when he tells Evelyn who is attending to his bleeding nose --Rafe:Evelyn,you are so beautiful, it hurts... Evelyn: It's your nose that hurts.
Rafe: No. I think it's my heart.
*************
Rafe enlists himself on a mission as a volunteer and the night before he leaves here's the conversation he has with Evelyn --"If I had one more night to live, I'd want to spend it with you.I don't want to be with a crowd tonight. That's what I want to have to think about and dream about. I want to know that the best part of my life...is still ahead of me."
*************
After coming to terms with Rafe's death, Evelyn spends time in the company of his good friend Danny (Josh Hartnett) who comforts her without realizing that they are gradually drawn towards each other as lovers. Here's what Danny has to say to Evelyn --
Danny:
I had a wonderful time last night.
Evelyn:
I--It's just all too fast.
Danny: Listen, Evelyn, I was just down at the beach this morning...and I watched the sun rise... and I knew that everything was gonna be different. That this was the start of something new.In this place, in this moment. And I don't care what anybody else says, you know? How can I not feel this way? I kinda like you.

We've been having quite a variety in our list of 20..musicals, rom-coms,love stories, war, drama and now yet another story of a different genre takes the toast at # 3....Yes,it is the TWILIGHT SERIES/ NEW MOON/ ECLIPSE. The Twilight series - Twilight,New Moon and Eclipse  may be 3 different films but for me it is one series which the director has chosen to give us these magical potions in measured doses on the eternal love saga of a vampire and a human being and the endurance their relationship will face in the test of time, circumstances and situations that'd arise because of their different existence and the sacrifices they will have to make as a result of their choices.

When Bella Swan(Kristen Stewart) moves to Forks to stay with her father, she joins college  to pursue her studies only to meet a charming yet aloof and mysterious Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) who happens to be her lab partner...and with time the duo realize that they were soulmates for life. But Edward has a secret,he is a vampire. And does Bella have a change of heart and will her affections for him change when she discovers this truth? No. She loves him, but then we also have Jacob (Taylor Lautner),Bella's neighbor and friend who also loves her and the laws of the vampires that do not permit such an unusual union....what happens next...for that we have to keep watching as Twilight continues to unfold...

At several instances in the films,Edward tells Bella how much he loves and cares for her and Bella too confesses her true feelings for him --
Edward: You don't know how long I've waited for you.

*************

Edward:I feel very protective about you. Edward:You are my life now...
*************
Edward: I hate you for making me want you so much.
*************
Edward: I don't have the strength to stay away from you anymore.
Isabella Swan: Then don't.
*************

Edward: That's what you dream about? Being a monster?
Bella: I dream about being with you forever.
*************

Isabella Swan: [freaking out] You can't leave me!
Edward Cullen: Shh... Shh... I'm here.
Isabella Swan:
We can't be apart.
Edward Cullen: Where else would I go?
*************

Edward Cullen:I'm from a different era, things were a lot less complicated. and if I'd met you back then, I would've courted you, would've taken you to chaperone strolls, ice tea on the porch..[pause] I may have stolen a kiss or two, but only after asking your father's permission, I would've got down on knee.[kneels] and I would've presented you with a ring.[opens box with the ring and places it in her hand] this is my mothers.Isabella Swan, I promise to love you every moment of forever. Would you do me the extraordinary honor of marrying me?
Bella Swan:
Yes.

*************
Edward Cullen: You'll always be my Bella...[pause] Edward Cullen: My Bella just less fragile...
*************

Isabella Swan: About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominating that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
*************

Isabella Swan: I'd never given much though to how I would die. But dying in place of someone I love, seems like a good way to go. I can't bring myself to regret the decisions that brought me face to face with death. They also brought me to Edward.
*************
Isabella Swan: [to Edward] I'd rather die than to stay away from you.
*************
But...we have Jacob too and he won't let go off Bella easily!
Jacob: You wouldn't have to change for me Bella. I'm in love with you, and I want you to pick me instead of him.

As we're inching closer to the # 1 spot...at # 2 we have WALK THE LINE,a film on the real life story of legendary singer Johnny Cash (played by Joaquin Phoenix) - his music, his highs, his lows and how his life changed when he met the woman who inspired him and his music - June Carter (played by Reese Witherspoon).

Meet June Carter, a young divorcee and a singing sensation. Meet Johnny Cash whose life has hit a new low with his domestic-end in shambles and his addiction to drugs. But when he meets June, that's the turning point in his life and in the film too....here's how he woos her!
 *************

Johnny Cash: You know what your problem is, June Carter? You are afraid to be in love, you are afraid of losing control, And you know what June Carter, I think you are afraid of livin' in my big fat shadow.
June: Oh really? Is that what my problem is?
Johnny Cash:
Yes.
June: My problem is that it's 2 A.M. My problem is I'm asleep. I'm on a tour bus with eight stinkin' men. Rule number one: Don't propose to a girl on a bus, you got that? Rule number two: Don't tell her it's because you had a bad dream.

*************
Johnny Cash: June.
June:
What?
Johnny Cash:
Marry me. [June glares]
Johnny Cash: Ok... Ok fine... but that's the last time I'm asking... June: Well, good. I hate re-runs.
*************

Johnny Cash: Marry me, June. June: Oh please, get up off your knees, you look pathetic.
*************

Johnny Cash: I want to marry you and I am telling you it's the time.
June:Well I'm telling you with 100 percent certainty that it is not the time. It's not about time, it's not the right time, it's not even quarter to the right time.
*************
Johnny Cash: I think it's about time, June.
June: Time for what?
Johnny Cash: For you and me... to get married.
June: Go to sleep, John.
*************

And the finale, when Cash and June perform on stage together...here's how he finally pops the question to which she cannot say no this time!
June:
[on stage with John] We've got these people all revved up, John. Now c'mon, let's sing Jackson for 'em.
Johnny Cash:
You've got me all revved up. Now I've asked you forty different ways and it's time you come up with a fresh answer.
June: Please sing.
Johnny Cash:
I'm asking you to marry me. I love you, June. Now I know I said and done a lotta things, that I hurt you, but I promise, I'll never do that again. I only want to take care of you. I will not leave you like that Dutch boy with your finger in the dam.
June: [shakes head]
Johnny Cash:
You're my best friend. Marry me.
June:
[quietly] All right.
Johnny Cash: Yeah?

Time's up and your wait is finally over if you have actively been guessing which film made it to the  # 1 spot of the most romantic film of all time. Anyone would have thought that the film that made it to the top would be a latest film or perhaps even Twilight....though I must admit that among the current lot of films,it definitely is...but at the cost of not being too biased and yet objective,I have chosen yet another film among my eternal favorite, released in 1940,adapted from a novel by the same name and directed by Victor Fleming,it's none other than our very own, GONE WITH THE WIND...a love story of  of Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) and Scarlett O'Hara (Vivian Leigh) gone with the wind...how I wished they could digitally alter the end where they'd live happily ever after!

Gone With the Wind is about the young, beautiful and dainty,Scarlett O'Hara whose desire to marry the man she loves Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard) is dashed when he marries Melanie (Olivia De Havilland). Unwilling to accept it, she pursues him all through even if meant marrying Melanie's brother and being a part of the same family and near her beloved Ashley. Then comes Captain Rhett Butler,a charming man who has his way with women but the moment he sets his eyes on Scarlett he falls for her and wants to marry her. Then comes the war and bad times fall upon them - Rhett goes to war, Scarlett is widowed when her husband is killed in the war and she remarries a rich middle-aged man so that she could pay her taxes and protect her ancestral land Tara from the invading Yankees. But once again Scarlett has to fend for herself when she is widowed when Rhett comes knocking at her door and proposes marriage to her. Even though Rhett knows that Scarlett still loved Ashley, he was equally sure that one day she'd love him too....but it was not to be.Calamity befalls the family - Rhett and Scarlett's daughter Bonnie dies in a freak accident, she has a miscarriage, later Melanie dies too and Rhett realizes that he was now out of place and should steer clear from the path of Scarlett and Ashley.Scarlett realizes that even death couldn't erase Melanie's memories from Ashley's mind...and it somewhere dawns upon her that all this while she was unknowingly in love with Rhett....but it was too late!Rhett divorces Scarlett to leave some dignity in their marriage and returns to Charleston. Scarlett is heart-brokened and sad...but she knows that she has Tara. That was Scarlett's transformation from a young girl for whom romance was the essence of life till she became a woman and realized that it was her motherland Tara that mattered the most to her...That was Gone with the Wind!

Several scenes in the film remind us of Rhett's frantic efforts to win his lady-love Scarlett O'Hara who has her eyes only for Ashley Wilkes...Sigh!! If only she could see beyond...what bliss!
*************
Scene 1 --At the Atlanta Bazaar fund-raising function,Rhett Butler bids for the lady he wishes to dance and he chooses none other than the young widow Mrs Hamilton ala..Scarlett O'Hara much to the chagrin of the community who believe that she's in mourning...faint!! At the ball Rhett Butler proposes to Scarlett O'Hara expressing the feelings he nurses for her and wishes that she reciprocates the same when he says --"I'll tell you, Scarlett O'Hara, if you'll take that Southern-belle simper off your face. Someday, I want you to say to me the words I heard you say to Ashley Wilkes I love you..."
*************
Scene 2 --Rhett Butler believes in the lost cause and wants to join the army...much to Scarlett's amusement when everyone was retreating,he doesn't know he'll see her again...and he professes his feelings for her when they stop by the Atlanta bridge and says --
Rhett Butler:
Now climb down here, I want to say goodbye...Climb down..There's one thing I do know... and that is that I love you, Scarlett. In spite of you and me and the whole silly world going to pieces around us, I love you. Because we're alike. Bad lots, both of us. Selfish and shrewd. But able to look things in the eyes as we call them by their right names.
Scarlett: [struggles] Don't hold me like that!
Rhett Butler: [holds her tighter] Scarlett! Look at me! I've loved you more than I've ever loved any woman and I've waited for you longer than I've ever waited for any woman. [kisses her forehead]
Scarlett: [turns her face away] Let me alone!
Rhett Butler:Here's a soldier of the South who loves you, Scarlett. Wants to feel your arms around him, wants to carry the memory of your kisses into battle with him. Never mind about loving me, you're a woman sending a soldier to his death with a beautiful memory. Scarlett! Kiss me! Kiss me... once...
*************
Scene 3 --Scarlett mourning the death of her second husband has an unexpected visitor once again in the form of Mr.Rhett Butler, who's simply smitten by her charms and has a proposal for her!
Rhett Butler:(on his knees) Forgive me for startling you with the impetuosity of my sentiments,my dear Scarlett. I mean,my dear Mrs. Kennedy. But it cannot have escaped your notice that for some time past the friendship I have felt for you has ripened into a deeper feeling. A feeling more beautiful, more pure, more sacred. Dare I name it? Can it be love?
Scarlett:Get up off your knees! I don't like your common jokes!
Rhett Butler: This is an honorable proposal of marriage made at what I consider a most opportune moment.I can't go all my life waiting to catch you between husbands.
Rhett Butler: Did you ever think of marrying just for fun?
Scarlett:
Marriage, fun? Fiddle-dee-dee. Fun for men you mean.
Rhett: You've been married to a boy and and an old man, why not try a husband of a right age and a way with women?
Scarlett: You're a fool Rhett Butler when you know I shall always love another man...
Rhett: Enough of that talks Scarlett...
Rhett: Say you're going to marry me, say yes, say yes... Scarlett: Yes...
Rhett:
Are you sure you meant it? You don't want to take it back?
Scarlett: No
Rhett: Well, what kind of a ring youd like my darling?
Scarlett: O..a diamond ring, do buy a big one Rhett
*************

Scarlett: Well, I won't kiss you for it either.
Rhett: (just when she's ready for a kiss) Open your eyes and look at me. No, I don't think I will kiss you - although you need kissing badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how.

So...those were my compilations of the most romantic dialogues/situations in the list of Top 20.. hope you enjoyed reading them...now all you need to do is to write in your feedback and comments like you always do!
Pssst...I know many of you may be grumbling that your favorites like Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Notebook, An Affair to Remember,The Bridges of Maddison County,Sleepless in Seattle,You've got Mail, When Harry Met Sally, Dirty Dancing etc and many others features nowhere on the list of 20....but I'm yet to watch them :-( ...but surely when I do make another list of the Romantic films of all time...some of them would definitely figure on that list!

Take care and ciao until next month.
Love,
Sonyaa
