OSCARS 2016: AN INTERESTING EVENING OF MANY "FIRSTS"!

Hi Friends,

How are you? And how was Valentine's Day? How did you spend that day in February which comes once in four years? Yep I'm talking of the leap year i.e. 29th February...hope you partied hard! ;-) Even if you didn't, Hollywood sure did when the film fraternity converged together once again to celebrate, honor and reward the finest talents among them at the Oscars. And we too celebrated in their joy as we cheered and rooted for our favorites while sitting in front of our television sets!

While the curtains on the awards season may have come down with the grand finale culminating at the Oscars but at the outset this year has been a mixed bag indeed especially when it came to predicting the winners! And perhaps for some it may even be disappointing to say the least with Sylvester Stallone not winning the Best Supporting Actor award, the lack of diversity clearly visible in the list of nominees and subsequent to it #Oscarsowhite trending across different social networks.

OF FILMS, TELEVISION, AWARDS & MORE... : HAVE YOUR SAY!

Hi Friends!
Welcome to the new year!
I pray that the new year is a new beginning of many good things to come and that your life may be filled with love, hope, fulfillment, happiness and peace!

It's January and the awards season is gradually settling in with nominations being announced (and some of them due anytime from now) from all quarters. It's that time of the year when Hollywood rewards the best talent whose work shone all through and made an impact both at the box office and found a favor with the jury as well (Psst...the latter is quite a formidable task to warm up with the choices of the jury!)

So, let's rewind back to 2013 and recall some of the films we watched or are in our watch-list...

A glimpse of films we saw in 2013...looking back
Last year like any other was an eventful one indeed with varied genres and flavors of films ruling the marquee. So if you had biopics on Steve Jobs, Princess Diana, Formula One Driver Niki Lauda, Julian Assange, Nelson Mandela then you also witnessed stirring dramas with powerful performances in Prisoners, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club,Labor Day, 12 Years a Slave etc.
