'IN THE SPOTLIGHT' ON SONYAA's RANDOM MUSINGS : V FOR VENDETTA

Hi Friends, 

How are you doing?Hope you enjoyed reading last month's post where I reviewed Meet Joe Black and described my thoughts about what I most loved about the film vis-a-vis the story, performances and direction.

This month I shall be reviewing yet another film but of a different genre that I've watched umpteen number of times.(At least for a change many of you won't jump to the conclusion that I'm only into classics, romances and costume dramas...I write about action, thrillers and sci-fi too!)

What happens when a tyrant takes charge of a country?Then what will it take to trigger the conscience of the masses that 'V' the people will rise and march onward?Did I just say V?Ah,yes it is - 'V For Vendetta'!

Each time I've watched this film,it has added a new dimension to my thought-process. Perhaps,I somewhere take this film as a reference in view of a disturbing trend that we are all a witness to of the growing ire and discontent among the masses against their governments that's emerging globally.The situation could well flare up and spiral out of control as we saw it happen in the climax of the film if governments around the world continued to lie, betray and conspire against the best interest of the people.

OSCAR NIGHT FEVER!

How are you doing? Trust that the New Year kick-started on a bright note for all and I pray that this spirit continues to sparkle all through the year! And for those whom the New Year began on a not-so-bright note...you still have 11 months to go...so cheer up and let's thanks God for the gift of Today, so that we may be able to make the best of Tomorrow!

Crime,Controversies,Corruption and Political instability continue to make news these days and like always not a day passes when everything has gone off smoothly around the world.So early in the year, I wouldn't like to do a recap of events which are not of your making and your liking either...though I did promise a reader of mine that I'd definitely write an article in one of my upcoming blog postings on the News-maker of the Decade,Julian Assange who has taken the world by storm. Incidentally,I made up my mind to write on him when my reader wrote to me asking me to write on anything besides Cinema! So...you'll have to wait on for that one...and by the way if you have anything interesting to share on any subject of your choice and yes, even on Julian Assange, feel free to write. WOMEN'S DAY - A TIME FOR INTROSPECTION

Yet another year has come again,yet another day,is instituted in our name....just for the sake of it....leaders,organizations,spokesperson etc etc will come,discuss,talk and praise and then let it pass away until it comes yet another year,another day...Confused??

O yes, dear ladies....and gentlemen too...I am talking about International Women's Day! Today, I want WOMEN to question their very sense of being... think, ponder, discuss,debate...and till do not cease the day YOU have the answers to all these questions. Till the time you do not find the answers,you will be dependent on an 8th March to celebrate your emancipation and woman-hood and Woman's day like Valentine's Day will just be relegated to one day of your life to express your love and feelings!
