USHERING A ‘CHANGE’

As a spectator I witness that for the first time in the U.S. history, Americans are taking a keen interest to elect their new leader Obama and the same holds true for the rest of the world where Obama lingers on in everyone’s thoughts, conversations or even a tête-à-tête on the economic recession, US presidential elections, Iraq war etc., all thanks to the Bush administration.

How is he going to contend with these challenges? How will he revive the sinking economy? How will he restore America’s lost glory?
Yes, this is what people world over are thinking right this moment. No one would want to repeat the same blunder thrice (we all know about the two terms ‘served’ by the Republicans and having them again!!).

How I wish either Hillary Clinton or Obama would have come into the picture when Bush was contesting his second term, it’d have been a fierce fight, where every argument of theirs would hold more weight age whether on the Iraq war, terrorism and the very idea of having the first people of their kind as the President of America (the choice of the firsts – be it a Woman president or Afro-American President to make it to the White House).

Now, Obama is a ray of hope.
He is coming at a time when things are really difficult for America on all fronts – the sinking economy, combating terrorism, the casualties of the Iraq war, the fiscal deficits running in trillions of dollars and the sub-prime crisis which have added to the people’s woes.
All thanks to the Bush administration and its policies …I needn’t elaborate on that…but for starters….it all began post 9/11 the hypothetical fight against terrorism (but against whom??…one man Osama), then to give that one man a country, America justified the war in Afghanistan and then Iraq to show a warranted link between Saddam Hussain and the most wanted terrorist Osama (no link at all…just for oil…we all know that…at least the world knows it…wake up America if you still don’t know about it!!), the delusional WMD’s (five years after the war and the WMD’s still elude them), death of innocent men, women, children, destruction, plunder etc....and the consequence of this – terrorism has increased manifold (look what’s happened in London, Spain, Bali, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, Pakistan and of course Iraq is bombed out), the body bags brought home each day of soldiers who have ‘sacrificed’ their lives in the name of Bush’s so called ‘freedom’ to a country ruled by a Hitler like Saddam (the Iraqis were far happier in the times of Saddam than they are now…I wonder how Bush got a premonition that the Iraqis were unhappy…may be in his dreams…but what a price Iraq and the world over had to pay for it!!).

Now, if the Americans do not heed to this warning and elect Republican candidate John MacCaine then certainly America is in for trouble, with the legacy (!!) of the Bush administration being carried forward there’s nothing much to expect…ah yes…the other day I heard Bush having some designs for Iran! So, you know what’s next in his mind!
If Obama becomes the president of America, he’d command the same popularity as that of John F. Kennedy and the declaration promise made by Martin Luther King coming true who envisaged that the people of America would no longer be judged by the colour of their skin but by their character. He definitely has the charisma of the two great iconic characters of history.
Yes, indeed, I see these two promises coming true.
Obama definitely promises to be the way-shower to the otherwise wayward America with great oratorical skills and what more, he's young, dynamic and working at the grass root level (his campaign speaks volumes about it, the very fact he doesn’t endorse the lobbyists) and of course AWARE of the his country’s shortcomings and definitely – I SEE A CHANGE

Today, dear American friends you will have to change the course of history and your destiny. Today, let America resolve to vote for a leader who is a man of Vision, Candour and Determination – and these are precisely the three qualities that can best describe Obama.
Well, the road for Obama is not going to be easy, but he’s definitely trying and that is evident that he has won and reached so far and you will have to see him through!!

Very nicely written! It's great to know that someone is actually conceiving the word 'humanity' in it's true sense!

Hi Sonyaa, Yes indeed what you have said about Obama is true but I will go a step further and elaboarate and amplify that an incumbent to the white house must also be a man of vision for the world! Let us face it any action of a US President in pursuit of his foreign policy objectives affects the entire world!! For the past 8 years we have witnessed the horrors of a misguided foreign policy which has spelt death & destruction for many people & nations at large!!!
