Hello Everybody…
How have you been?? It’s been really long that I wrote in, especially from the time I decided to write in once a month….Ah! blame it on time constraints or my crazy schedules…I really have no track of it….my apologies…..am online today…barely making it… just to ensure that my dear readers, subscribers and bloggers do not miss out on my posting which is due today…..why am I telling you this….well simply because am out of town and just as I have managed to make it….I’d want each one of you taking out time no matter how hectic your schedule may be to make it a point to read and share your comments on my blog.
Anyway today I have a little surprise for you…I’d been working on it for a while and now it’s ready….but before I tell you about it, let’s discuss today’s topic of my blog.
The Oscars are nearing, nominations are announced (Good news for India….10 nominations for Slumdog Millionnaire and Rahman might just be scoring inches closer to win the Oscar with not one but two nominations to his kitty!!)…but amidst all this hullabaloo one man was missed dearly in Hollywood circles as the nominations were announced…will he or will he not take the golden prize is what they all might just be speculating….though 99% feel he's tipped to win the Oscar (after having won the Golden Globe award for the film)!
Well let’s just end the suspense here…yes, we are talking about the young heart-throb Heath Ledger and the film in question is The Dark Knight!

Yes my dear friend, Heath Ledger has earned an Oscar nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category for his superb portrayal of the mad-lunatic Joker which was loved by one and all from 6 to 60 in one of the topgrossers and blockbuster last summer, The Dark Knight. It’s also for the first time ever that a Batman flick has clinched an Oscar nomination! (Pssst….even Jack couldn’t achieve this feat!) And this was so perfectly timed for all Ledger fans that while his fans were on one hand celebrating on hearing about the Oscar nomination; on the other hand he was dearly missed and remembered on his first death anniversary on January 22nd, when he died last year because of an apparent drug overdose. So, it was a time of mixed emotions!!
Anyway nonetheless, now it’s time for us all to root for him to ensure that he wins the Oscar because he surely deserves it (though the Oscars are seldom given posthumously…..anyway let’s hope otherwise and little Matilda, 15-16 years down the line would be proud of her daddy and his much coveted golden prize….after all, these prizes, recognitions, memorabilia’s are the only remembrances that’d she’d grow up on, learning to know who her father really was, the late actor – Heath Ledger).
Here are 5 things all you Heath Ledger fans ought to know…which I have summed up!
1) In his short career span, this 28 year old actor had earned two Oscar nominations – Best Actor (Brokeback Mountain) and Best Supporting Actor (The Dark Knight)
2) The Gyllenhaal siblings have by jove proven lucky for him in getting him Oscar nominations; Jake Gyllenhaal played his gay lover in Brokeback Mountain while Maggie Gyllenhaal is the lead actress in the film The Dark Knight!
3) He died while filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus which was left incomplete, so the director had to alter the script to include three characters Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law who agreed to fill in Ledger’s place.
4) Was set to star in Baz Luhrmann's pre-WWII drama (which I guess was the film Australia, starring Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman), but backed out to play the Joker insted.
5) The youngest actor to play the Joker in a Batman movie The Dark Knight as oppose to Jack Nicholson and Cesar Romero.
Now here's the surprise...Exclusive!!!(Duration:1-min,19secs) I have used still pictures,a song he has sung in one of his films and excerpts of his interviews to make this film...So why are you waiting? Go ahead and watch it! It may look like a work of a novice and I’m not denying it…I was just trying my hand out at using this software so I thought why not make it on Ledger and share it with you all!

Yes indeed we all will miss Heath Ledger not only at the Oscars but forever! But he will continue live through his his movies!! Rich Legacy of his outstanding performances will continue to remind of this man who would have been a legend in his lifetime had he lived long enough. How sad you could not upload your video tribute to him. Try uploading on Youtube first and then use the same URL here. Anyway May God bless his soul....
