BARACK OBAMA SCRIPTS A NEW DOCTRINE OF POLITICAL GOVERNANCE

Well, today in yet another series of our postings our topic continues to focus on one man who is scripting a new future for America and no this time it's not me but Mr. S.S. Pannu who shares with us his observations and summarizes the 'Change' Obama is inching towards and hopes that in the coming elections India too is blessed with one Obama!!

Barack Obama Challenges and Changes the Rules of Governance and no single person in recent times has inspired mankind so much as Barack Obama. And no civilization or country has ever trusted their destiny so completely in the hands of a single individual. Really it is awesome because it reminds me of how in the Old Testament Moses single-handedly lead the children of Israel out of Egypt into the Promised Land!!!

His inauguration as the 44th President of United States on 20th January 2009 changed everything not only for America but for the whole mankind. It was not just a simple inauguration of an American President but far beyond that an event of unprecedented magnitude for the entire world. He symbolises not only the hopes and aspirations of his country but brings a message of peace and well being for the entire world. In fact, the first discernable change that we witness is that even the people who hated America for all the right reasons see him as their friend. Most important of all, he moves swiftly, undaunted in the midst of a huge economic crisis characterised by a cruel legacy of the severity of a bankrupt economy he inherited a from his predecessor.

With little over 70 days in office the speed with which he and his administration has moved against heaviest of odds seems unparalleled in the annals of recent history of the world at large. He seems to be moving like a catalyst in dawning a new era of responsible and responsive governance of foresight for his people from “bottoms-up” as opposed to the usual “top-down” approach. Beware the Bushe’s & Mugabe’s of this world your days are numbered!!!

The lessons of ‘Obama’ movement will eventually cover he entire planet like the water. Soon every nation will demand an ‘Obama’ for their prosperity and well being. Once and for all he has radically changed the rules of political governance dawning an era of counting on and swearing by every man who has put him in that office as their voice in Washington. No wonder he speaks and assures them on every given opportunity personally or through the TV or the internet. Addressing a crowd of millions soon after his victory he said “winning the election was the very first step in bringing the change but people must continue to participate and continue to ride with him to overcome the might of the well entrenched vested interests in Washington who will not allow any plan to succeed without a fight!!!

As I watch him in every press conference or meeting he stands like a rock behind his people shielding them from harm. Above all, he defies all logic of usual political governing practices of conveniently forgetting the electoral promises made to the people once elected. He is in fact reminding them every step of the way and at the same time pursuing each and every promise with a missionary zeal.

More importantly, he has launched a frontal attack on all problems simultaneously covering all aspects of the economy right from housing to job creation which anyway is something which can bring some immediate succour to the people completely battered by the winds of a stricken economy. As opposed to all political gimmicks only thing he does not promise is a miracle and magic-fixes like his predecessors. I think that’s the reason people believe and trust him.

So friends in the days to come we will see the emergence of new order called the ‘Obama Standard for Politics of Ethical, Responsive,Transparent and Responsible Governance” (OSPERTRG). Thus resonating the true spirit of democracy giving power back to the people who elected him to serve them and not the vested interests with tax breaks.

Today I must confess how lucky American people are to have found Obama in their darkest hour who will lead them out this grave crisis with aplomb. In fact, now it is my firm belief every country needs an Obama every 50 years to leads them out of the mess created by the predecessors. Look at it like this, India is in the midst of elections let us pray and hope we are also blessed with a leader as honest and sagacious as Obama to help clean up and unite our polity against the divides of religion, fundamentalism, hatred, casteism and language. Is it asking for the moon??!!
